PALMA SPORTS

Let’s go clubbing.

Drop the anchor and spend the day on the green! Choose to be challenged on one of Mallorca’s (and Europe’s!) best golf courses or try one of the sea view courses designed by the renowned Robert Trent Jones.

T-Golf Calvia
The club Poniente might have been considered a snooze fest at one point but was given new life when German shipyard owner Tamsen decided to turn T-Club into something really happening.
Good golf, good food and a nice fleet, it’s a really nicely packaged experience.
The grounds feel more like a nice country club where the golf is important, but it’s the entire experience that makes this visit special.

Son Gual
The more experienced golfer chooses the more demanding course Son Gual instead.
It’s ranked as the best golf course in Mallorca and as one of the 100 best golf courses in Europe.
The fact that it is built on a field near the airport makes this a really potent golf course that challenges even the best golfer.
If you really want to push yourself, then this is the place to go.
Keep in mind that the runway is right in the flight, north of the airport. If you are easily disturbed by noise, we recommend other courses.

Son Muntaner, Son Vida, Son Quint
This facility is located more or less smack down in the city of Palma and consists of three different golf courses with different characteristics.
Son Vida and Son Quint are shorter but more challenging and the settlements are closer.
Son Muntaner gives you who are a longer hitting golfer a great challenge. This is where you go to play if time is short, and the game will be more of an excursion.

Alcanada
Beautifully located on the north side of the island. Captain Alfonso and the ESSoESS mobile will take you here and it is well worth the trip. The course is designed by Robert Trent Jones. We assume he loves the sea as almost all 18 holes have sea views. This fact makes it feel like the balls fly a bit further here…!
This is one of our favorite spots as it offers a pleasant environment, a fantastic course, and good food. In addition, it is not too difficult to play. It’s two thumbs up from us!
Don’t be surprised if there are Porsches in the parking lot as it is Ferdinand Porsche’s descendant Hans-Peter who owns the track and the land.

The PADEL & TENNIS COURTS we recommend

RUNNING in Palma
Start by the boat and run east. A nice run where you’ll run along the beach, you’ll meat lots of people and no slope to tire you. Return whenever you want Back and forth to Puro Beach is about 18 km. Stop for a coffee at Portixol square.

HIKING in Palma
Hiking on the island is underrated, start in Soller and hike to Cala Deia for a swim and a lunch on Ca’s Patro March. Take the boat back or choose one of the other many nice tours that start in Soller. If you want to stay closer to Palma, start with an easier walk in the area around Bellver Castle.

CYCLING in Palma
If you have never cycled, stay along the east coast where the climbs are kinder. But cycling should be done on the west coast of the San Muntaner mountains. Perhaps the most spectacular cycling you can find. Picturesque villages, cafes, tough climbs and absolutely stunning views. Start in Palma and cycle north towards Valldemosa, continue towards Esporles where you stop for coffee. When your legs start to feel tired, you turn home towards Palma. Or keep cycling, via Calvia and end up with the military hill down towards Palma. 4-6 miles with 800-1100 altitude meters. You will love it!

If you want to challenge yourself, cycle north in the mountain range and take Sa Calobra, one of the world’s most talked about and beautiful climbs.

You can rent a bicycle at Mallorca Cycling Center, they offer the latest Tour de France bikes at an affordable price.
